Scott Peterson found Guilty...

Friday, Scott Peterson was found guilty of one count of first degree murder for killing Laci and one count of second degree murder for killing their unborn child. This came after a 5 1/2 month trial, a week of deliberations, and 2 jurors dismissed during deliberations.

There were many things that went wrong with this case from what I have heard. To try and explain a few.... The jurors we're allowed to see the boat in person during deliberations and even jump around in it and test it out (making it outside testing from the facts presented in court). There's even alligations that the second juror released during deliberations (he was released with no explanation from the judge), was released because he did not want to convict Scott and the rest of the jurors ganged up on him. Of course, that's just a rumor. The jury is still under gag order until after sentencing. The judge allowed the prosecution to keep running up witnesses and experts for four months in their side of the trial. There's no way they should have needed that long. I can't remember all the other problems that arose, but you get the picture.

Anyways, I think Scott should never have been convicted based on the evidence provided, or lack there of. The procecution basically painted Scott to be a jerk and a cheater. They attacked his character while not providing any rock solid evidence against Scott. Everything they put up was circumstantial. The boat was in the area Laci was found. He was out when Laci went missing. He was found in SoCal with his hair colored and headed towards Mexico. OK, that all sounds suspicious. But none of that is proof of murder. You are only supposed to convict when you do not have a reasonable doubt. I can't see how not a single remaining juror had no doubt without any hard data/facts. After Scott gets sentenced to death (and he will), Scott Peterson and his defense has a great appeal option. With all the problems with the court process and especially the jury, there's a good chance his sentence will be overturned. Especially if it turns out that they jury used a "mob mentality" to chase out any dissenters.

It will be interesting to see where this goes, but the jury's decision is just as shady, in my opinion, as Scott Peterson himself.

I would be very interested to hear what anyone else has to say on this. It was a bizzare case, and I'm sure someone else has to have an opinion.
