A Democratic Tragedy

I don't understand how anyone can vote for a Democrat these days:

~The Democrats took over Congress in the last election and declared that America chose them and their "new direction for America." Unfortunately, the Democrats had no idea what this direction was. Apparently, they have figured it out, and that new direction is setting a date for troop withdrawl in Iraq. Genius. Lets give the terrorists, who are already looking for reasons to keep attacking innocent citizens in Iraq, an end date to shoot for. "If we can hold on until April 1st, the Americans will leave and we will have won." It seems as if Democrats don't remember why we are fighting terrorists abroad...is 9-11 that far out of consciousness already? They have turned the war in Iraq into a political bargaining chip. It's disgusting.

~Dick Cheney called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on using the war for political gain. After saying the Iraq War was lost, Reid has been in a constant verbal spat with the White House over timetables for withdrawl and such. OK, thats fine. Bicker all you want. I'm just much more surprised by the hypocracy in Reid's rants. Dick Cheney called Reid out on using the Iraq war for political gain. Reid responded by saying "I refuse to get in a name calling feud with the White House's political attack dog." No name calling...political attack dog. Hmmmmmm... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How can anyone listen to this guy?

~Moving on, a story in The Politico claimed that Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani predicted a new 9-11 if a Democrat won the White House in 2008. There were no quotes in this paper to validate this wild claim, and for good reason: Rudy never said it! Nonetheless, every single democratic presidential candidate was quick to jump on the bandwagon of this "story" to sling dirt at Giuliani. The Democrats claim the President has a policy of "shoot first, ask questions later," and then pull this crap. Its amazing anyone can believe anything they say anymore!

~To continue on this dirt slinging trend towards Republican presidential candidates, John McCain recently made an appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. During his appearance, ON THIS COMEDY SHOW ON COMEDY CENTRAL, McCain made some very innocent jokes about the war. Like everyone on that show does. And it wasn't even a joke about the war, it was a joke about his trip to Iraq that the Democrats like to jump all over (the one where he said the Iraqi markets were much safer now, but had like 10 secret service members and a flak jacket on...and therefore he was a liar, according to democrats). So, he jokes about himself and the drama created around him by Democrats, and the Democrats freak out and say that John McCain should apologize for his remarks, that they were offensive to anyone who has ever served or is currently serving in the armed forces. Um, McCain was a POW...he can say whatever he wants about the military. He's earned that. And seriously, lighten up and get a sense of humor! Its a comedy show. If you can't have a sense of humor from time to time, how do you hope to run this country???

I'll stop here, but it really is baffling that anyone can listen to a thing any Democrat says now. They are the party of hypocracy and lies, of grand standing and political rhetoric. It sickens me that these people have been given the power to govern my country.

Pal, I completely agree. I'd like to add one thing, though: how can anyone listen to Democrat OR Republican? Both parties are corrupt, both filled with lying crooks. It makes me crazy.
